Canadian Friends of Finland was founded in Toronto in 1982. The Vancouver chapter started in 1989 and was independently incorporated as a non-profit society in BC in 1993. Members have an interest in furthering their understanding and knowledge of the culture, history, and current events of Finland, and enriching and promoting Finnish-Canadian relations.

We organize films, concerts, symposia, lectures and other cultural events

We publish the CFF Newsletter that includes stories, poems, and articles about Finland and Finns in North America as well as notices and reports about our activities. We actively seek submissions from our membership. CFF members may or may not have direct ethnic links with Finland – we welcome everyone interested in our activities.

Notices about upcoming events are also sent by email or regular post and listed on this blog site that you are now reading: http://CanadianFriendsOfFinland.blogspot.com.

CFF is a member organization of Finland House Society, which, with other Scandinavian House Societies, manages the Nordi Centre, to provide a facility where Nordic cultures and events can be showcased.

A collection of Finnish DVDs, VHS tapes and some printed material is available for loan to CFF members. You can access the Finnish Room at the Scandinavian Community Centre. Please all ahead to make sure the room will be available. It if it booked for a meeting you will not be able to retrieve any materials, so please call ahead.
